I definitely do NOT recommend this church for you if you live in
the Philippines. I noticed on their website...under the "Young
People" link that they quote Chuck Swindoll. The following link
exposes Chuck Swindoll for Praising the work of Mother Teresa
and for promoting the godless ministry of Billy Graham (Mr.
Ecumenical himself):
Jesus spoke of bearing a cross in the Christian life.
The Bible proclaims in 2nd Timothy 3:12 ...
"Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution."
Jesus clearly said in Luke 6:26...
"Woe unto you, when all men
shall speak
well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets."
I quoted you these verses to say this. I am leery of any
ministry that draws crowds of 2.8 million. It does not appear
that Bro. Eddie is suffering much for Jesus. I see nothing on
his churches' website about Christian standards of living or
living a holy life. My heart tells me that Bro. Eddie is more of
an opportunist than an evangelist who cares for the souls of
men. I see that he ran for president...which just reinforces my
opinion.
What I am saying is that something is very wrong with a
professed man of God that everyone loves. Jesus was hated. Billy
Sunday was hated. Charles Spurgeon was hated. Any Christian who
stands up against evil will be hated. I am hated. I realize that
not all believers are exactly the same, but we do have Biblical
guidelines on how to live. We are supposed to stand up against
evil, not keep silent. Psalm 94:16 declares...
"Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? or who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?"
It disturbs me greatly when a professed man of God such as "Bro.
Eddie" preaches a vague gospel, but never really builds up his
people in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. We are
supposed to preach the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but
the truth. Bro. Eddie preaches a very basic salvation message
that leaves much room for manipulation by the cults. Did you
know that the Jehovah Witness false religion teaches people to
accept Jesus as their Saviour? But they have the wrong Jesus!
Did you know that the false religion of Seventh-Day Adventists
teach that people should be born-again? But they add the Sabbath
and good works to being saved. With watered-down gibberish like
Bro. Eddie preaches, most cults would feel welcomed into his
meetings. I believe in calling false religions by name, to leave
no doubt. How many people do you think would come to hear Billy
Sunday preach today? Two?
I think the clearest indicator to me about "Bro. Eddie's"
unspiritual condition is on the "Bro. Eddie" page of his
website. Are people going to hell? Yes. Ok, look at his list of
things he is celebrating. The first item he is happy about is
"Breakthrough in the Political Realm." He lists "More souls led
to Christ" fifthly, second up from the the bottom of his list.
Something is very wrong with his priorities! I'm not saying that
He is not saved, I am saying that it appears that politics means
more to him than winning lost souls to Christ. He needs to get
in, or get out. He is lukewarm and God will vomit him out.
