How To Go To Heaven

We will examine today, how a man is saved. There are many heresies today concerning salvation, the most important doctrine. If we are wrong on salvation, then we are wrong on everything else. Nothing matters if you are not saved. Nothing will matter a hundred years from now, except, whether you died in your sins, i.e., unsaved, or whether you died in the Lord, i.e., saved.

As we begin our examination of the doctrine of salvation, I would ask you to please not accept anything on this website blindly, i.e., do not accept anything because you think it is correct. Test everything you find here by the Word of God.

Let the Word of God be the final authority on ALL matters. Remember, if you adhere to the Bible alone, you can never go wrong, because the Bible is the inspired, inerrant, infallible, and preserved Word of God, i.e., the King James Version ONLY, seeing that ALL modern versions are corrupt, i.e., Satan’s fingerprints are all over the modern Bibles, I recommend a King James Bible ONLY, not the New King James either, but a KING JAMES BIBLE.

Now let us see what the Bible (King James Version) has to say about salvation, and how a man is saved:

1) WE ARE ALL SINNERS.

• “ALL WE like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us ALL.” (Isaiah 53:6)
• “Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” (John 3:3)
• “As it is written, There is NONE righteous, no, NOT ONE:” (Romans 3:10)
• “For ALL HAVE SINNED, and come short of the glory of God;” (Romans 3:23)
• “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that ALL HAVE SINNED:” (Romans 5:12)
• “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.” (1 John 1:7-10)

Before one can be saved, they must first acknowledge their sinfulness. A man CANNOT be saved if he doesn’t see himself as a sinner. You must acknowledge your sinfulness before God.

2) YOUR SIN DEMANDS PAYMENT―ETERNAL DEATH IN HELL AND YOU MUST RECOGNIZE THIS.

• “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.” (Romans 5:12)
• “For the WAGES of sin [is] death; but the gift of God [is] eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 6:23)
• “In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not, i.e., (trust not the Lord Jesus Christ for forgiveness and salvation) the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:” (2 Thessalonians 1:8)
• "And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.” (Revelation 20:15)
• “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” (Revelation 21:8)

We clearly saw above that the wages of sin is “death“. “Death” here is not just limited to physical death, but it also means the “second death“.

The “second death” is separation from God, in the lake of fire for all eternity (Revelation 21:8). You see, man is a sinner. God is perfectly holy and righteous. God’s holiness demands that justice be executed. Holiness and justice demands that sin be punished after this manner, BUT….

3) THE LORD JESUS CHRIST PAID THE PRICE FOR OUR SINS BY DYING ON THE CROSS AND SHEDDING HIS BLOOD;

CHRIST WAS BURIED AND ROSE AGAIN!

• “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)
• “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)
• “For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. (Romas 5:6)
• But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.” (Romans 5:8-9)
• “This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.” (1st Timothy 1:15)
•  “Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the PRECIOUS BLOOD OF CHRIST as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:” (1st Peter 1:18-19)
• “Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ DIED for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was BURIED, and that he ROSE AGAIN  the third day according to the scriptures.” (1st Corinthians 15:1-4)
• “In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son [to be] the propitiation for our sins.” (1 John 4:9-10)

You see, we are all in trouble with God’s Law, because we’ve ALL broken God’s Law. God’s Law indicts, i.e., formally charges mankind for having broken, transgressed, and violated God’s Law. ALL men have been tried and found “guilty” by the Law of God, and has therefore righteously declared that the “guilty” suffer eternal punishment in the lake of fire (Romans 6:23; Revelation 21:8; 2 Thessalonians 1:8-9). 

The Lord Jesus Christ has offered to be our “ADVOCATE” or “DEFENSE ATTORNEY“

“And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:” (1 John 2:1). It has been made possible for the “guilty” to receive an “advocate” because of the “blood sacrifice” of the Lord Jesus Christ. God the Father therefore only requires of us to come unto Him by way of the LORD JESUS CHRIST (John 14:6; Acts 4:12).

If we reject the Lord Jesus, then we will inevitably be summoned to the “Great White Throne Judgment” to be justly cast into the lake of fire. The lost will be judged according to their works.

This judgment is NOT to determine whether or not they go to heaven or hell, because that is settled by one’s ACCEPTANCE or REJECTION of the Lord Jesus, i.e., when one trusts Jesus Christ to forgive their sins and save them, that person has accepted Christ but when one fails to trust Christ, or when a person puts their faith in anything else except Christ alone, such as their own works, or church membership or water baptism, or another person’s salvation, then they have rejected Christ.

4) BY FAITH ALONE IN THE LORD JESUS CHRIST ALONE CAN ANY MAN BE SAVED.

Salvation is NOT found in a religion or good works, but in a Person... The LORD JESUS CHRIST!

• “And he (Abraham) BELIEVED in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness (Abraham was saved by Christ’s righteousness).” (Genesis 15:6)
• “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, [even] to them that BELIEVE on his name:” (John 1:12)
• “And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and BELIEVE the gospel.” (Mark 1:15)
• “And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: That whosoever BELIEVETH in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever BELIEVETH in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:14-16)
• “He that BELIEVETH on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” (John 3:18)
• “He that BELIEVETH on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.” (John 3:36)
• “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and BELIEVETH on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.” (John 5:24)
• “And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and BELIEVETH on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.” (John 6:40)
• “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that BELIEVETH on me hath everlasting life.” (John 6:47)
• “He that BELIEVETH on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that BELIEVE on him should receive:...” (John 7:38-39)
• “I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye BELIEVE not that I am [he], ye shall die in your sins.” (John 8:24)
• “Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that BELIEVETH in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.” (John 11:25)
• “Let not your heart be troubled: ye BELIEVE in God, BELIEVE also in me.” (John 14:1)
• “JESUS saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John 14:6)
• “But these are written, that ye might BELIEVE that JESUS is the CHRIST, the Son of God; and that BELIEVING ye might have life through his name.” (John 20:31)
• “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. (Acts 4:12)
• “Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas, And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, BELIEVE ON THE LORD JESUS CHRIST, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. (Acts 16:29-31)
• “To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by FAITH that is in me.” (Acts 26:18)
• “But to him that WORKETH NOT, but BELIEVETH on him that justifieth the ungodly, his FAITH is counted for righteousness.” (Romans 4:5)
• "Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him; But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we BELIEVE on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead; (Romans 4:23-24)
• “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the LORD shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13)
• "For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is JESUS CHRIST.” (1st Corinthians 3:11)
• “Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the FAITH of Jesus Christ, even we have BELIEVED in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.” (Galatians 2:16)
• “For ye are all the children of God by FAITH in Christ Jesus.” (Galatians 3:26)

I’m quite sure that the evidence hereby is strong enough to convince us that salvation is WITHOUT WORKS. That one is saved by GRACE ALONE, through FAITH ALONE, in CHRIST ALONE. (Ephesians 2:8-9)

As man of God, David J. Stewart said, “Salvation is NOT found in a religion or good works, but in a Person…The LORD JESUS CHRIST!” I could not have said it any better myself. David J. Stewart is 100% correct on salvation. What Mr. Stewart meant is that being religious won’t save you, identifying yourself as a Catholic, or a Seventh Day Adventist or any other, WILL NOT save you. ONLY FAITH in the LORD JESUS CHRIST, BELIEVING on the LORD JESUS, as the SON OF GOD, i.e., GOD IN THE FLESH, can save you.

Salvation is not difficult at all. Do you want to be saved? Jesus wants to save you more than you want to be saved (2 Peter 3:9; John 6:40). All you have to do is to trust LORD JESUS CHRIST, i.e., trust CHRIST as GOD ALMIGHTY in the flesh (1 Timothy 3:16), and trust Him as SAVIOUR, to forgive all your sins and to save you.

Don’t let anyone tell you that you have to live a righteous life to be saved, or that you have to forsake your sins to be saved, or that you have to be water baptized to be saved, or that you have to do any other work to be saved. Our LORD JESUS CHRIST meant what He said, and He said what He meant, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that BELIEVETH on me hath everlasting life.” (John 6:47)

Do you want to know what work saves? “Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye BELIEVE on him whom he hath sent.” (John 6:29)

All you have to do is to BELIEVE, i.e., trust upon, the LORD JESUS CHRIST to save you. No priest, or minister can forgive your sins, beloved be not deceived. Only JESUS CHRIST has the nailed scarred hands and feet, thus only JESUS CHRIST can forgive your sins and save you.

No amount of righteous works you do can save you.

Your self righteousness is filth in the sight of GOD.

“But we are all as an unclean [thing], and ALL OUR RIGHTEOUSNESSES [are] as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.” (Isaiah 64:6)

You see, no matter how much good you do, your sins are still recorded in heaven and your good works cannot undo the bad you’ve done. You need to have your sins forgiven and washed away. What can wash away our sins? NOTHING BUT THE BLOOD OF JESUS.

Therefore, all you have to do is to acknowledge the guilt of your sin, and trust CHRIST to forgive you and save you because of the precious blood He shed to redeem you. Beloved, if you get saved, I can’t even describe the joy you’re going to experience. And how precious is our God for making eternal life a FREE GIFT (Romans 5:15-18; 6:23; Ephesians 2:8)
